I have a BGK that I bought at about 3" and now he is like 8". He used to be happy eating bloodworms, but now he started going after my neon tetras and ottos. What else can I feed him besides live bloodworms, any suggestions? I heard of small chunks of beef heart but that's about it.

My knives are really keen on brine shrimp. you can buy them frozen or just get the eggs and a breeding trap. When they're big enough scoop some out for your BGK.
Sometimes Buck ,8" knife, gets a small earthworm as a treat but it has to be cleaned thouroughly and cut into lengths of about 3/4".
Oddly enough he doesn't touch bloodworm but he has had a fare few tetras in his time, once even a tiger barb that swam into the wrong cave.

My fish (including BGK's) get a general diet of flake, protein pellets and frozen blood worm. With a treat being live black worm, frozen brine shrimp and meal worms. Try to vary the diet of your fish and try to ensure that your BGK gets enough to eat, even if you have to drop food in after dark, this should ensure they don't go hungry and take other "meals" that are readily availible. If he's fed enough he shouldn't go for any of the smaller fish. I've still got a couple of danio's, feeder fish as well as some small cory's and mine haven't taken them. Hope this helps. Cheers, Bryce.

Hi,
I know it's been a while since this was posted but for anyone interested, I've fed Ebony, my BGK, on Frozen Blood worm, Freeze dried blood worm, Frozen beef heart and Freeze dried river shrimp. Luckily Ebony doesn't seem to be too picky about what she(?) eats. I have noticed the occasional neon tetra missing though.
