I have just purchased a 3" or so BGK and have him/her in a 2' tank with 6 rosy barbs, 2 neons, 3 harlequins, 3 rummy noses, 1 whiptail, 1 bristlenose, and an Angel. As I love my tetras and other small fish, but desparately wanted a "ghostie" I want to make sure my "ghostie" is well fed enough to leave the little fish alone (I'm an eternal optimist) I don't want to over feed the tank, but I want to make sure that everyone, especially "ghostie" gets enough. At the moment I give several small feeds daily (3 - 4 and only a pinch of flake that is eaten very quickly) and a block of frozen blood worm every 1-2 days. I put the blood worm in one of those floating feeders for live worms and the rest of the fish "flock" to that while I can put some of the bloodworm into my "ghostie's" home. I've only had ghostie about 4 days now and the water condition seems fine so I don't think I'm over feeding? In fact the way the rest of the fish act, I'm concerned that they may still be hungry.
Am I doing the right thing? Could I do better?
Btw, I'm planning to upgrade to a 4' tank with lots of plants so the littlies have somewhere to hide if necessary.

I feed my ghostie twice a day, once I get up and once before lights out so they wont make a meal out of small tetra

Thanks for that FMZ I have started feeding ghostie & the others Morn & Night. I've tried the "dropper" method with frozen blood worms and my angel loves it but my ghostie I think would prefer to take it from my hand or from the floor. Ghostie still hasn't quite worked out when it' breakfast or dinner and so I have to virtually put his meal under his nose.
I'll be going away for about 4 days, away 3 nights. How will ghostie cope witout brekky & dinner? I think he's too small to hassel the tetras but I'm not sure. He's about 7cm long.
Any suggestions? DLK
